I am a newer owner of a 1969 2000 and was recently introduced the sounds of the upper timing chainguide (the L part) being snapped off and putting a quarter size hole through my valve cover. anyways I am a little uncomfortable in the task of replacing the chain. It did not brake but is now loosygoosy. I would appreciate any recomendations of someone that might be familiarwith these cars in my area.
As of right now I have taken most of the surrounding parts off bagged and labeled with pictures but have yet take the head off
mechanic in the Portland,OR. area?

Give Dan Hart of Circle H Enterprises a call. He's up in Vancouver. He specializes in Datsuns and is very familiar with roadsters. I took my ailing 5 speed to him to diagnose. He's honest and does great work. I don't have his number off hand but if you call information they can get it for you.
