Smells like a freshy

People keep telling me this car or that car is worth about 500.00 or 800.00 dollars and maybe that is the case but the owners laugh at that and want 1000, 1500, 2000,2500 so what its worth vs. what you have to pay to get the car I guess is the art of deal.
I may be over paying a bit but I’m a win win kind of person. I don’t get my jolly’s off cutting the margins and feeling like I got over. I’ll pay a little more and everyone is happy and the karma is good because if you want to play you have to pay.
It may seem naive or dumb but I have to tell you this isn’t my first rodeo in buying and selling and I have almost invariably come out ahead at the end of the day and feel pretty good about things. If it is a horrible deal or doesn’t feel right I walk away.
I’m taking a good friend and we will be stuck in horrible traffic on a 250 mile round trip in the rain on a holiday travel day with my truck and a car trailer and according to some most probably over paying for a car I know hardly anything about.
Guess what? I can’t wait!

You sound like I offended you. No offense intended - just stating reality. I have owned over a dozen Roadsters - still have 3 and a half around here. If you have to evict a family of mice, then all of the wiring and upholstery is suspect. That factors into the price. I was just trying to help.

I bought the one in Philly for two reasons
One: It is 100 times better condition than the old one was and it runs and a little more cash. No mice! The owner was not a paranoid tin hat wearing freak job.
Two: I really liked the guy from Philly he was pleasure to deal with but boy it was in a scary neighborhood I was concerned when my GPS said we were there.
He had this bad ass garage in the hood. It looked like he owned the block and knocked down some houses and put in this fortress garage with concertina wire and bullet proof doors. He some corvettes and other cool cars stashed in there.
It all worked out well. I trailed it back home it went flawlessly and we actually had a great time.
The other great part of this car is I am the second owner of the car. It was imported from Okinawa in 1970 by a second Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. I have the original DD430 that allowed him to transfer it to San Francisco. I also have the original bill of sale from Ryukyu Nissan motor Co with Japanese tax stamps etc. He paid 2,430.00 for it spanking new and a title that is clear and from the original owner and man it was a pleasure doing this deal.
It needs some work but that’s why I bought it. It will be a rolling restoration and will be a restoration because of the paper work or “providence of the car.
I took no offence I am actually grateful to you guys for your input and guidance. I will scan the docs and VIN plate and get some pics up after x-mass.
I wish I didn’t buy wife bling for mass I coulda bought the yellow one as well.

Oh, maybe he meant he drives it with only the right hand.

I tried that, it's really hard to reach 5th gear with your left hand.ppeters914 wrote:Oh, maybe he meant he drives it with only the right hand.
On the "bad ass garage in the hood"...You should come to work with me some day, see the finer side of downtown Newark (not Delaware) and Jersey City . Ask Stickerman, I am not what you would call intimidating. The pit bulls outweigh me. Funny enough, 95% very nice people, 4% whackos and 1% dangerous. There are some very cool cars hidden in some those bombed out buildings.
Anyway, Welcome to the asylum!
