It appears from old posts here that I should be able to get a puller on it (without removing anything else) and move it down allowing me to remove the steering box. Is that true?
I have the AutoZone puller and it’s too big to get it position. Some have said they used the HF one but I’m not sure they did that when everything was still on the car. Can someone please comment on the use of the specific puller used on a complete car. Thanks everyone so much. Jim[blur=]

Re: Removing pitman arm before removing anything else
Ok, so after removing the three bolts on the box I was able to move things around and locate the AutoZone puller into place; and then easily separate the pitman arm from the box and remove the box.
Took a good bit of wrestling the puller into position but it’s clearly doable. Jim.

Yeah. I did soak with PB Blaster for two days. Prob helped. Once I got the puller on there I knew it would go.
