Here it is moving down the road through 2nd and 3rd. The Flip Video camera doesn't quite capture the full glory of the noise and over exaggerates the squeakiness of something:

Excellent! Sounds nice. Unseen petina (squeaks) is an earned trait.

Following up on this. Any update on how the linkage works? Im basically at a point where I need to sort out what I need to do on my car as well and Im running the same set up and issues you had. Close up photos of the center post you fabricated and installed on the intake would be appreciated. Many thanks to everyone as I am working on getting my car finished. Maybe this spring, you will see me at Solvang... with the help of this forum of course. :smt006

A few shots of some recent progress...

Dandridge and I haven't progressed much since the last post. Both of us have been busy and we can't get the O2 sensor to work for an unknown reason. It won't free-air calibrate, and therefore won't allow us to go any further with the setup of the thing. From time to time it just falls on its face, I don't know if its starving for fuel, or if its suddenly going super rich. It restarts every time and usually goes on without any fuss till it does it again. Without the O2 sensor, there is no way to tell what is happening.

Will: is it grounded properly? It could be that the exhaust hangers are not allowing the sensor to ground. I tried doing a free air calibration on my sensor before screwing it into the bung and it wouldn't initialize - because it didn't ground...

Also, I just tried the U20 Solex air filter housing - it fits to the carbs (horizontal spacing is the same), but the rear carb is too close to the inner fender to fit. Not enough height between the inner fender and carb!

I think the engine and tranny mounts are wonky on this car. Either that or the H20 sits lower.
We used a 3mm spacer under my left hand engine mount to tilt the engine a little. It allowed longer trumpets and a 2nd filter on my U20, with the standard, early factory filter setup. Having that curved lid really does improve flow over a flat filter top. Might work for your setup, too.

An impulse pump? What is that? You have motorcycle carbs, not a set of Mikuni 40 pHHs. I can't help you there. People have run them, but I don't have the foggiest idea what is required to make them work on a roadster.

This thread revival is a blast from the past. I never did get this car fully dialed in. The guy who Dandridge bought it from bought it back.
