Not really. Remove the smog pump and related hoses. Plug the ports in the head. Recurve the distributor. Since yours is a 70, you likely have the vapor recovery tank in the trunk. You can remove that too if you want.

I have a stock dizzy. How difficult is it to recurve it ? Do you mean, replace springs and weights ?? Or would a new electronic dizzy be the better option ?

There are several threads on how to recurve the distributor. The distributor cam (the think that opens/closes the points) is the biggest thing. While I am a bit of a purist, I will say that the electronic ignition distributor is a HUGE improvement to the Roadsters. I don't like the stock ignition - weak, inconsistent spark is not uncommon. The electronic will solve a lot of running problems. notoptoy on the forum is Tom of East Coast Roadster - he makes a very nice distributor. JT68 has several distributor options. I think that Stan still offers a couple distributor options as well. There may be more, but that is all that I know of off the top of my head.

Dean sells a kit (PN 2208) that has the proper plugs for your head to remove the smog equipment. The manifold that Z Therapy sent you is the earlier one without the mystery device boss.

I believe TM40 had an impulse tube on the Skidoo.
Anyone running a 12 volt impulse pump ? Or do I need one ?
