Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
Hey team...
I boxed my 1966 wiper motor assembly for 'later' and while I was putting it away, I noticed that the driver and passenger side have different wiper arm connections. One side is larger, maybe 3/8" diameter and the other is maybe 1/8" diameter. Seems to me that one side is missing the larger diameter piece. Looks to be a press fit perhaps.
What's the story here, and is that 'bushing' available here in Datsun-land?
Thanks in advance!

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
Will late model tail light sockets fit into an early model taillight?
I'd like to use three wire bulbs for all four lights (brake and turn).

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
If I had an extra pair of early, rubber plug style, 3-wire pigtails, for my recent tail lights upgrade from early to late style functions (all four lights operating as running, turn, and brake, as found on the '70), I wouldn't have needed to use the late style arrangement, but the rubber plugs on my early lights were cracked, tearing, and otherwise disintegrating, so I opted for the nylon, and more durable, late design.
This required me to use the late style socket housing to accommodate the "twist" style, 3-wire pigtail plugs. If you're asking "will the actual late socket housings screw on to the early, exterior housing, the answer is "YES"...If you mean to ask if the "twist" type pigtails will fit into the early socket housings, the answer would be "NO", unless some creative modifications were somehow made.

Hey Roadster friends.
Do the factory roadster wheels have any markings which would help to identify them as a correct fit? I've got a line on a set of four, but I don't know how to verify they are sized correctly without test fitting them on the car.
Please and thank you for all guidance and comments!

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
2nd photo of this eBay listing shows what to look for. The info could be under paint / crust. From the listing the 7-68 is the manufacturing date, so that will be different from wheel set to wheel set. What you want to confirm is "4.5-JX14S' is present that is correct for 1967.5-1970 wheels. 1965-1967 wheels will be be 4.0 wide wheels. probably you will want to avoid these as the 4.5" wheels offers a slightly better "wider" and "safe" tire selection.ADR wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2024 8:48 am Screenshot_20241228-084726.png

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
I have 3 bins of spare parts I need to find a home for ... plus a 1600 engine, a rad (re-cored), driveshaft, exhaust manifold. The majority of the bits are for a 1968 1600. I have 4 SU carbs, a raft of instruments, headlight bezels, rear lights...and on and on. We need to free up space ... and I have been given a deadline of March 5th. Does anyone have hints on the best and quickest way to pass these parts on? We are in Kelowna BC & are willing to deliver up to a couple hours away.
Ralph

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
and I have a question about gauges. Specifically the multi- units in a 67.5 1600. I was curious as to why there was some blue paint flakes on the inside of the lenses. So I took them apart. Inside the housing is painted a pale (Sora?) blue. Flaking of course, causing the initial question.
Any thoughts on why this isn't white?
Did Datsun know something about blue light in the 'sixties?
thanks,

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread-take 3
Bumper to rear frame - how much space is there?
Looking for a simple measurement from a Roadster owner who's fully assembled ...
Can you let me know how big is the gap between the bottom lip of the rear bumper and the back edge of the boxed frame?
I'm looking for a measurement in the direction of travel, between the rearmost face of the frame rail connecting member and the lip of the rear bumper. Picture is attached.
Thanks everyone!!
