Stereo install help

Post by printner »

I'm installing the car stereo while I put the radio/heat console back in, and ran into a little problem. My stereo has an external Bluetooth adapter connected, and the bluetooth has to be powered on BEFORE the head unit is turned on, otherwise it doesn't connect. I'd like to hook the bluetooth adapter to a circuit that turns on with the ignition (radio lead is always hot). Any suggestions on what I could tap off of? This bluetooth unit has very little current draw. TIA

Keyed ignition is the black wire with a white tracer stripe.

Hello, I'm curious your location shows Rocky Mountain High, I Think I'm the only Roadster owner located in Colorado Springs are you close by. Not too many Datsun Roadster owners in Colorado.

Thanks for the wire suggestion, Dave. I discovered I can use the blue switched lead from my head unit, I just have to wait for the bluetooth to come all of the way on. If I need to change direction, I'll go for the black w/white.

Bob(?) I know of at least one other roadster owner in the Springs. There used to be more but I think a few sold off their cars.
