Why would you want the pump on in the auxiliary key position? If you want to use it as a primer, just turn the key to run and wait about 10 to 20 seconds and it should have filled the float bowls. Then you can start the car without having to crank so much trying to prime it with the mechanical pump.

I had a 67 2000 that I built for my brother to use for college. I put an electric pump on the body by the tank and had a hidden switch to turn it on just in case someone would try to steal the car.

Be sure to protect from a potential electrical pump-fed fuel fire by use of an inertial cut-off switch in the event of a hard impact.

Agree with Dave and others. I ran a wire from the battery terminal in the fuse box to a push/pull switch I installed in the small triangular piece under the left hand side of the dash. I also installed a small fuse behind the switch. From there I ran the wire to the hot connection on the fuel pump. If I remember correctly, be sure you use a low pressure fuel pump in the range of 2.5 to 3.0 psi. I had the interior apart at the time, so it was easy to do.

The pump I prefer is the Facet pump that I put in most of the time. It’s internally regulated, has a filter in the body of the pump, it’s very quiet compared with other aftermarket pumps and very affordable. The pump is an OE pump for several European cars and is also approved for aircraft use as it PE in Cessna airplanes.

I attached a link for the pump below.

I may have worded the original post poorly I have the fuel pump all set up and I have a relay that turns the pump on and off, the relay has a wire that attaches to a switched 12 volt to turn the relay on and off I was just trying to figure out what the best switched 12 volt wire would be to attach to. I was thinking one of the wires for the ignition switch

Black wire with white trace is keyed ignition and would be the best option.
