Fuel Gauge Replacement

Post by K2enterprises »

I have a 2000 from 1969 and need to replace my fuel gauge. Do the 510 fuel gauges match? Any idea of replacement options?

If you have a defective gauge, check with Jon Frampton, he may be able to repair/refurbish yours for less than a replacement. His work is top notch.

We have plenty of good cluster gauges. It is easy to replace a single gauge in the cluster - probably 1/2 the price of gauge service!

If you don't think you are capable, you can also swap the whole cluster easily.

That being said, Jon does a great job and is highly recommended! Any of these methods will fix you up :smt023

Did you check your sending unit first? They usually require service/replacement before the gauge. To check, just ground the wire at the sending unit (you'll need to remove the inspection cover on the trunk floor) with the key "on." If that pegs the needle, your sending unit is faulty.

One other thought, are you sure the gauge is bad?(or possibly it is physically damaged) It is relatively uncommon for them to die---usually a sender, wire or the regulator..

Like he said! If the coolant temp. gauge is also playing up, that points to the common factor, the gauge Voltage Regulator (VR).
Nissanman, just trying to help.
