Wiring Harness

Post by 68DSU »

I've been fighting electircal problems for a while now. My original under hood wiring harness has been tapped into and, I suspect, changed about by a garage I foolishly left it with (I got impatient). I am considering just changing the whole thing out. Does anyone have any experience doing that? I know someone has but what is the prevailing group knowledge about that endevor?

Depends on how talented and patient you are. The engine harness is fairly basic and there are several references you can call on to identify and repair any problems. How are the connectors? If, overall, the harness is very sad then replacement is probably the most cost effective solution. If the wires are still reasonably flexible and the connectors are serviceable, just treat the spot fires, not literally, to repair it.

THIS is why I came back here. The help that the "community" gives is irreplaceable. I'll give it a shot on my own and see what happens.
Thanks.

Curtis has made specific year harnesses if you find sections you want to replace that should hook up in all the right places.
