I just ordered a new rubber for my soft top, and I notice it has a slit on it prior to install.
Anyone know what that is for?
Does it affect the installation?
How do I get the rubber on my top?

The slit in the soft top weather drops over the raised bend on the thin metal strip on the leading edge of the bow. Use 3m weather-strip adhesive -black

Here is a drawing I made of the rubber strip when I assembled my soft top.
I have a '65 but I think it is still relevant: -
