Best Storage Solution for a backup MBC?
Hi Everyone,
I've not been able to sell my refurbished master brake cylinder, so, since nobody seems to need one, I'm going to store it for my girls to deal with after I die (unless I need it before then)...
What is the best way to store one of these? Soak it in WD40? Freeze it in a block of ice... or whale blubber if I can get my hands on some of that? Time capsule?
Thanks in advance,

Store it in a cool dry place.

Thanks Keith, cool and dry is actually harder than it sounds with my garage situation, the garage can get hot ... so, more specifically:
Should I add ANY lube to it? A light coat of oil? Anything to the rubber to keep it nice and supple?
And honest question: place it in a bag in a refrigerator?
Thanks again,
Peter

If it has been rebuilt it should be dry of brake fluid other than a tiny amount. If the rubber is kept dry is should last a very long time. In the house should be fine. Fridge is overkill. Out in a shed where it roasts in the summer and gets damp in the winter will certianly kill it.

If you have a Food Saver type device (vacuum sealer) well you know the rest. Toss in a Desiccant / silica pack, can't hurt.
