Spare tire hold down thread size?

Post by funkaholik »

I don’t have a spare tire holddown bolt, and I’m getting ready to do an 800 mile trip and thought it might be nice to have my spare tire not flying around in the trunk. I used the thread checker and nothing seems to fit, SAE or metric. Does anybody know what the thread size is for a 1970 roadster?

Hi Erik, it’s a pretty coarse thread, probably not standard. Are you headed to Shasta? If so, I have an extra one that I can bring along that you can have. Pat
