LSD clutch
Has anyone found a source or an alternative for the LSD clutch discs for the H190 differential. I’m swapping my ring and pinion and I would like to replace the friction discs while the tech has it out. I have found one disc, but I don’t know if that will be of any help or for that matter how many discs there actually are. Might even be open to good used ones as well.

Re: LSD clutch
To the best of my knowledge there are no more clutch plates available. They have been NLA for years. Sorry to give you the bad news, I hope you get lucky and find some new old stock.

Re: LSD clutch
Yeah Dave, that’s what I’ve heard for years. Hoping someone has figured out a workaround to keep their LSD alive. The differential specialist (with many many years of experience) that is setting mine up has suggested that it may be possible to find automatic transmission clutches that could be adapted, but he hasn’t started on mine yet to know. It would also seem to me that someone somewhere might be able to reline used ones.might have to dig deep on this one!

Re: LSD clutch
They are seldom used / in action that creates wear .. unless a wheel starts slipping ,it's not like a AT were they /friction disks , are constantly slipping going down the road
If they worn it the excessive play can be set back in specs with a thicker thrust plate

Re: LSD clutch
Have you determined if the plates wre worn. The ones I have seen are metal to metal. There are wave plates which add preload which causes wear in turns. When I build mine I leave the wave plates out so if you coast through turns the plates don't wear. The wave plates are not needed for the LSD to work. I broke an axle and was still able to nurse the car home. There are different thickness plates so you could compensate for wear.

Re: LSD clutch
Referenceing wave plates, I have 10 innies and one outie, all about 1.7 mm thick I'll never use.

Re: LSD clutch
Thanks for all the info guys. Spyder, the guy that is doing my differential has not opened it up yet, should be in a few days. He mentioned that there may be things he can do once he sees what we are working with. I’m trying to be proactive soI can let him know just what parts I may be able to get ahold of. I would definitely be interested in buying your parts once he gets to it. Thanks, Mike
