New/Old 68 1600 owner here

Post by Enumclaw »

Well, to be perfectly clear, it is my wife's. :smt003

This is a car that was sold to a good friend about 30 years ago. It was my wife's daily driver up until about three years prior to that, when it became clear that a car seat doesn't work too well in the ride, let alone two.

That friend had/did a ground up restoration on it; I visited the shop when the frame was on a rotisserie in prep for powder coating, and the parts were strewn about in the midst of awaiting their turn for similar treatment. Anyway, she is thrilled to have it back, and there might be 1000 miles on it since that was all done.

The wiper blades are disintegrating, which is how I stumbled upon here. I'm trying to find what the options are, and from what I have found they are extremely limited at best. They are the original type 1 blades from what I can determine. Any help appreciated. (I know this is better asked in a different sub-forum.)

We are about an hour from the apparently now-defunct Rallye Enterprises; too bad, we used to do regular business with them.

Welcome! Lots of good information here.

Our vendors are a good place to start for parts. For wiper blades you can also check with Moss Motors, they have quite a few items that work on our cars, but they sort parts by whet British cars they fit. I was looking for some oddball wiper blades to fit non Datsun arms & they came up with what I needed. Give them a call.

It must be so cool to get your old ride back in good shape after all this years! Do you have some photos to share?

Yes, living in Enumclaw, your definitely gonna need some good wiper blades! Welcome to the forum. Ross Mullens is one of our many great vendors. He owns Sports Imports and is located in Washington state up near the border with Canada. Check the "Vendors" link in the sub-forums.

Yes, Welcome! Wonderful place to own and rive a Roadster, at least in the Summer! Be sure to hit the mountains in spring... nothing like a convertible in the mountain passes here! We're very lucky!
