Rota RB 76mm Bore 15x6 - Special Order - Nope!

Post by UTBirdMan »

I hope I don't get in trouble with this post, if it is out of line, just let me know and I'll delete it.

I was about to place an order from a well known Rota dealer (18racing) for 15x6 +20 offset RB's and learned that they no longer stock that size. What they offered in place was not what I wanted, but they did say they were placing an order soon and I could get a special order. I asked if I could enlarge the center bore as well. This surprised them as they had never heard that the roadster needed a larger center bore, but did offer that as a possibility. They also asked if I would share this. I told them it likely wouldn't go far as I am new at this game and pretty much everyone who buys the rims knows they need to enlarge the bore. However, if anyone else wants to jump in on this, let them know. I will be ordering 15x6 Silver / Polish Lip +20 4x114.3 w/ 76mm center bore. Prices slightly higher than list, but likely worth it for the correct size.

Hey Birdguy,
Try Wheelbay on ebay, they were very helpful with my rota grids.

I was able to order offset rims for my ride and delivery was quick

Hope this helps, good luck

It's been awhile for me too, I think it would benefit all if Rota RB info was kept in one place. Maybe this thread:
https://311s.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=14550

I recall having to enlarge the center bore when these wheels were first being installed on our cars. So, does Rota now offer the RB with the correct center bore (as they began offering "large center caps"), or has everyone that purchased these wheels had to enlarge the center bore themselves?

I actually turned the front hub flanges down to fit my RB's with the standard center bore. Seemed the easiest solution since I had the front end apart doing the Spriso big brake upgrade at the time.

The distributor got back with me and told me that the special order now is not possible.

Turns out that one of our sponsors, VTO Wheels, makes a Classic 8 that can be custom machined to meet our specs, placed the order today. Price isn't really much different from Rota. Pleased with the service and that much of the work is being done in the US. 15x6, 4x114.3, +15mm offset, Bore 76mm.
