The carbs are a kit for a 240Z, which used similar SU's to the Roadster. Jetting unknown, it's going to be an experimental process. Sid had dibs on the single downdraft Weber manifold, for now
Info and pricing for distributors is on the website, Eastcoastroadster.com, there are a few options.

well brisco, i think i will pass and go with z therapy, since it is my wifes car i would prefer to just bolt something on her car and it be ready to go besides tuning. i would hate to build linkage and such and something not work right.....
on the other hand i will be in touch as soon as the weather brakes and i get some customers cars out of the garage to get all my ignition stuff.
Probably an intelligent choice, although it means I'm still stuck with the carbs. Maybe post them on a Mini or MG forum, then I can split the pair an sell them separately!

Sell the carbs to a dime guy (will one fit the manifold I have dibbs on?) I am sure we can come up with a creative use for the manifolds. Travel urinals for the Roadster maybe?

Depends.

By Depends, do you mean on the question, or are you commenting on what you wear to stay dry in your Roadster?
Well, somebody got the subtle humor

Caball like mine are not that common, ie you really need to look around for quite a while to find one, the Urvan ones are more common (although I have never really paid much attention to the manifold on them).
OK, glad we got away from that depends discussion, although it was a good pun.
First, that intake pictured is awful. is there a more torturous route for atomized fuel/air?
"Let's give it a place to make a big Puddle" theory, seldom exercised in performance applications.
So, back to the point, SU carb reliability.
I am ashamed to say, I have been the reliability tester for quite some time.
I bought my roadster St Paddy' s Day 2000. (yep, 10 ya anniversary this week!)
I soon brought it, short of sackcloth and ashes, to "The Guru of Glendale", none other than Victor Laury, who did his best to tune the carbs but gleaned that I had a banjaxed set-up of partially removed smog equipment (aka: smog equip removed by dizzy never recurved), and he did his best (like 200% improvement) but told me, BUY A G.BOONE UNIT, NOW, which I did.
Installed it (incredible difference). Started driving the car.
Afyter 2 years or so, prior to a Solvang run, I took it tot the local Roadster / Zcar mechanic, (I do all my own work, but don't have air tools), and asked him to balance the carbs.
He called me up 2 hours after opening, and said, "fergus, both me and my mechanic have driven your car, and we can't make it go any faster than / run any better it currently goes."
OK, so part of what he was saying was, maybe, "without a rebuild, this is what you are gonna get".
But fast forward 5+ years. Other than a learned use of the throttle lock knob, on very cold or warm days, I have done nothing to those carbs. I have driven them hard, hard, hard. Had a piston stick once when it was laid up for 9 months trying to sort out my alternator gremlins.
I fill the damper oil, and it goes down to a level in 2 hours of driving, drains the rest when sitting in the garage for 2 weeks.
Embarrassed I am, 10 years and I haven't learned SU upkeep, but in terms of unreliable? I haven't found that.

Anyone know if there is a bolt-up manifold that will fit on an L16 to run a single downdraft Weber carb? Looks like redline makes one for L series Nissan engines, but it not clear to me if it would fit. Thanks
Yes, but my experience is very old. 1) the stock manifold will accept a Weber 32/36 DGV carb. I don't recall needing an adaptor plate. 2) Offenhauser made a "Duel port 360" manifold for the 4 cylinder l-series, had one on my '73 PU before going dual SU.
