Oil Dipstick O-ring - 3/32" x 7/16"?

Post by Daryl Smith »

Looking for the size of the o-ring used on the dipstick....
I put a 1/16"x 7/16" od o-ring on and it works, but is a bit small for the groove in the dipstick.
I think a 3/32" x 7/16" would work well, but as yet haven't found one to try.
Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

I replaced mine but I didn’t keep any information on what I used. As I recall I went to my local NAPA store & they had several large kits & we found one that worked. I’ll try to measure mine today.

Also, try your local hardware store & check out their plumbing section.

Thanks Pat!
I done what I shoulda done in the first place, went out and measured things....roughly...

Dipstick Tube ID - .385" (~9.8 mm)
Dipstick Groove ID - .274" (~6.96 mm)
Dipstick Groove Width - .104" (~2.64 mm)

Your O-ring at 10 mm x 1.75 mm looks to be about right, and much closer than the 7/16" I was looking towards...I might also try a 10 mm x 2 mm.

Cheers,
