Sting-Grey Delivery!

Last Friday, on a very cool, snow covered morning, Eric Straw was kind enough to load the Sting-Grey into his truck and trailer and go with me up to the Seattle area to deliver the Sting-Grey to it's new owner. It was a balmy 21-degrees when I pulled it out of the shop:

We had a long drive up to Seattle with a few stops on the way, but arrived just in time for an amazing steak dinner (prepared by Gregg) which was a great way to cap off a successful project and turning the keys over to Gregg and Darcie who are very excited about their new ride.

P.S. We'll be calling her 'Grace'... seems fitting in many ways :smt006

I'm looking forward to seeing the car and meeting the new owners in Person! What's also funny is that it was sold to a Gregg (me with an extra g!) AND his wife is named Darcie! My first long term relationship (4.5 yrs with a high school sweetheart age 16 to nearly 21) was with a D'Arcy... not a very common name. In my case, it took a break up and my move across the state to WSU for school before I found my car. So, it's come full circle... kinda.

I hope we get a chance to meet up come spring! The Cascades are calling me and I'd love to share some warp drive speeds on the Hiway 12 (White) or Hiway 2 (Chinook) mountain passes with you and Pat (Unklpat) et al. It's really a great drive and a fascinating change in geology and vegetation as you transition from Western to Eastern Washington... I can hardly wait!

Sounds like a plan Greg, and since you like all the connections, you might find it interesting that I've known Pat since the 80s and he got his '68 2000 from me, although he's definitely improved it a lot since that purchase.

It was also Pat that called me when Sting Grey was posted for sale here... he's a good 'unkl' to have!
