Any value?

Post by Atascadero »

Hello,

My wife recently passed away and in order to sell her house this 1969 Datsun needs to be removed. I love cars, but know little of these models, but do know that I would be interested if there is anything of value in this group's opinion on this very rough example. My only other option is to have it removed to a salvage yard. I would hate to do that if there was some use for the car with this group.

The motor is in the car, but the fan is removed. I do have the fan and some other parts, but do not know why it was disassembled in the first place. This car has been sitting out for ten years+ in Atascadero, California.

If this group does not see any value in parts, etc., I will have it scrapped.

There is a clean title coming from the CA DMV after a title change to their daughter's name.

The pictures are upside down above, but are right when opened?

Regards,

Joe

Pay it forward by giving it someone who needs the parts.

Agree with Dave. A salvage yard might even charge you to haul it away. Perhaps a roadster owner would take it for free and make sure that it’s parts get put to good use.

I can’t tell a lot from the pictures, but the car is easily worth several thousand dollars if the engine and transmission are not completely trashed. It actually looks like it may be restorable if it’s not a complete rust bucket.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the kind words and your excellent advice.

I will do my best to get the car in the hands of someone that can put it to use.
