Looking for these needle bearings?
I have a 67 411 SSS manual. The trans is basically the roadster 4 speed shorted 4 inches mostly in the tail. I’ve disassembled the trans and have found all the ball and needle bearings I need accept these. There looks to be 3 sets under the 1-3 gears, two rows of about 54 needles per. Any ideas where I can find these?

If Don’s lead above doesn't pan out, you might want to try giving these guys a call (I believe yours is the F4W63 transmission):

Re: Looking for these needle bearings?
Shaft looks fine, the trans was making plenty of groans so just replacing all bearings. Pic of trans, not exactly like a F4W63

Been a long time since I worked on one of those, but it sure looks like a F4W63 (maybe for a J16 engine)Greaser2 wrote: Tue Jan 10, 2023 8:30 am Shaft looks fine, the trans was making plenty of groans so just replacing all bearings. Pic of trans, not exactly like a F4W63

It’s an R16 engine.

Re: Looking for these needle bearings?
Is the counter gear shaft supposed to have this groove. Not sure how it would have worn away if not designed this way.

Re: Looking for these needle bearings?
Wow. That’s the worst scoring I’ve seen. Probably from a seized (or wrong sized) needle bearing somewhere in it’s 50+ year history.
