Body shop recs - Socal

Got rear ended by a guy in a BMW at a stop light. Pretty much just drifted up into me but our lil cars aren't the toughest. Any recs for shops in socal, preferably San Diego County? Hard to find places nowadays that want to work on old sheet metal.

Pushed the bumper in, bent the bumper brackets that pulled the bumper inwards. Bumper hit the body and pushed it in, bent the trunk floor in slightly as well.

Thanks yeah it sucks. I was also rear ended in my spitfire at a light once upon a time!

The other guys insurance accepted liability so its just finding a good shop now.

Those type of rear end collisions can have unpredictable hidden damage, perhaps even to a transmission output/ pinion seal or maybe even an output bushing. That might result in oil leaking onto a rotating driveshaft which then messes up an otherwise clean undercarriage. Better check it out … Just ‘sayin

If I trusted a shop to do it right, maybe damn I think it hit my rear main seal too

Well found a guy that will do body and paint, but not touch the bumper. So I'm between repair/rechrome mine, chrome a straight used one, or try to get one of the Vietnam polished ss ones.

I don't know what it costs to straighten and re-chrome a bumper in SoCal any more, but I do know what it costs here in Idaho and that is why I am running with 2 new bumpers from Viet Nam.

cbez, very sorry to hear/see, flat out sucks. A Cummins RAM, pushed its winch into my 280z last week. As recommended above, I've got SS bumpers from Viet Nam, both roadster and Z. They are exceptional parts, their female rep through Ebay (maybe out of LA, lost her name?) is very responsive. Packaged like medical instruments for shipping, flawless polish, straight, correct alignment and fit. Your's is a very nice car, it'll bounce back; in the end----glad you are not hurt, and, as mentioned its repairable.

Well I think I have a shop lined up. Hopefully it gets neatly wrapped up and doesn't become another one of my sagas on here

I am having to do the rear bumper separately from the body work so if anyone has a lead on a fresh chromed one let me know!
