Well I bought only 1 caliper to just get a mock up model. It clears the stock wheel which I was really hoping for! But still am undecided on piston size. The next size up is way to big at 4.8 compared to 3.0 with the caliper in the pic

I haven't updated in awhile but have made good progress! Big move was getting the willwood pedal in.

Decided to keep the numbers match engine stock. Picked up a 5 bolt r16 for dirt cheap for a stroker build! Had lou mondello ship over his stroker kit. Vg pistons, custom rods and a 782 casted crank. I need to get the body back on the frame first before getting into engine building. Will update with pics of the body progress tomorrow. Just got it back frame the sand blaster. Minor pinholes and a hole that needs to be welded up.

I found it easier to install the engine and transmission before putting the body back on the frame. Easier to do paint and body work while off the frame and you don’t have to worry so much about scratching the paint when reinstalling the drive train.

I am kinda in a pickle. My wife got jealous with my two roadsters. She bought a 85 cabriolet that needs to be in the garage for the winter. I am going to finish the underbody work and paint then put the body back on the frame. That will free up a slot in the garage for the cabrio.

Rust issues! Luckily I feel that it's not crazy bad. Feels good to have the under body so clean and blasted!

Oh man getting the engine bay for paint and it makes me so happy to see the engine bay so clean!

While prepping and treating the engine bay saw the notorious brake firewall crack! Weird how it cracked
like the MC was being pushed in? Bummer since it's all stripped I guess I will weld it up. I think I will probably weld some kinda brace in as well.

I wonder if they crack as much on the other side (JDM right hand drive).

I have a brace that will prevent it from cracking again and give you a much better peddle feel.

I’ve had the original Stan Chernoff dual master cylinder 1968-1970 brace in standby mode for 40 years, with no need to install it.

Got the lifters reground and mushroomed for my aggressive cam! Speccing out this stroker engine is a serious learning curve.
