Top Holddowns High Screen roadster..

I had the common problem of the holddowns for the top unhooking at the first sign of rough road, Passenger and Drivers only, centre OK.
Because they are a cast part, when they wear they are not easy to fix, while messing with them I managed to break one of the hooks off, I finally decided to break the other off as well, then I drilled a 5/16 hole and inserted a piece of 5/16 Stainless rod, with a bit of adjusting it has solved the problem, both sides are as new again and wont wear as before... the main casting is very strong so is no problem to drill...
this may be of interest to someone else..
