Most folks probably don't care but I thought I would explain the latest issue we had. Our current hosting provider is a VPS Virtual Private Server which resides on a server with multiple VPS servers running side by side. I have full system admin on our VPS. The main server had a backup process that got stuck in a loop which ate up all of the available disk space. The forum software and website run on a databases which contains multiple tables. Databases do not take kindly to running out of disk space and table corruption occurs. The corrupt table needs repaired. You cannot do that on a live database without going through the back door which requires using the command line interface on the VPS. Once the disk space was fixed I repaired the corrupt table. I decided to take this time to do some additional cleanup on the VPS which included updating software packages that needed updating. We should be back in business.

Wow man, really appreciate your dedication to our community Steve. Clearly without you we would not have this wonderful site and all we get as a family and resource. THANK YOU for all your work. It's been a while since I've chipped in, so I will do so now... Thanks again!

Re: Latest Issue
A gorgeous day, parts arrived to install, and the 311s.org Forum is back up. Pretty nice 70th birthday so far.
