After 11 yrs of living with the former owners replacement exhaust system, I'm going to get rid of the 1.5" dia exhaust from my flex pipe from the header and the straight line glass pack muffler that is really annoying (at least to me) above 3k rpm. But I also want to keep this relatively simple and just replace it with a 1.75" dia pipe throughout and a new, quieter muffler between the cross frame and the rear axle. I'll either keep the existing resonator that has 1.75" inlet and outlet or replace it if conditions call for it.
So my question(s) are specific to the muffler. I'm not finding many options for a 1.75" inlet/outlet with a center in/offset out configuration. Most mufflers I'm seeing have 2" or larger inlets/outlets. What I've come up with are two Walker Mufflers:
Walker SoundFX Universal 17196 - 4.25"H x 9.75"W x 14"L. Total length = 16.5"
Walker Tru-Fit 18164 = 3.25"H x 7.75" x 16"L. Total length = 19"
Has anyone used either of these? If so, what do you think of them?
I could use a 2" dia inlet/outlet muffler with adapters to 1.75" pipes if need to but I'd rather keep it simple.
Thanks all!

Re: Muffler suggestions
A 1 & 3/4 " OD pipe needs a 1&13/16 " ID From the connecting pipe or muffler to clamp on snugly.
I've used a cut strip of galvanized duct pipe as a shim between them to have it fit right with the clamp
I used to.get the 1/4" steel mating plates and gaskets weld to the pipe and on mufflers then you can change them easily straight pipe, glass pack or reg muffler

I'm also considering a Dynomax 17730 Super Turbo. 2" inlet/outlet, centered/offset and reversible. 4.25"H x 9.75"W x 14"L; 18.5" total length. Has anyone used this? I'll also replace resonator with whichever muffler I use.

I've a 2.5 " on a 2L 4g63 , like it
The resonator kinda negates the turbo type muffler benefit

I replaced the exhaust from collector to rear end with 1-3/4†tubing to a stainless SuperTrapp 1-3/4†inlet, 4†OD outlet muffler, where the megaphone is disc and end-cap tunable.

Re: Muffler suggestions
I have a similar Dynomax with what is now more like a Borla exhaust tip/resonator (see Amazon), except mine is an older NLA "Monza tip". Deep, mellow sound, never raspy.art11144 wrote: Sun Jul 10, 2022 12:40 pm I'm also considering a Dynomax 17730 Super Turbo. 2" inlet/outlet, centered/offset and reversible. 4.25"H x 9.75"W x 14"L; 18.5" total length.
