That looks like one of mine, East Coast Roadster. You are set with EI and a 7.5 degree curve.

Body cart is finished. Cut a notch along the top so the seam under the rocker panels fits right in.

The car is all broken down. The hardest part of the whole process was the steering rack. Quite the complicated set up. SInce I've yet to drive the car, how good is the steering in these cars? How does it feel? How is the effort?

Took a peek inside the bottom end and inside the transmission, didn't see anything out of line. Anyone know what's up with these brackets/tabs on the bottom of the oil pan?

Those tabs are for the overflow tubes from the SU Carbs. You are lucky to have them, they rarely seem to stay with the car!

Re: '67.5 SPL311 1600 Restoration: Let the fun begin!
Sorry, no updates for a while, I've been busy getting myself into trouble. First I found a used, like new, steal of a deal, 4 post garage lift locally. Had to disassemble at the seller's garage two hours away, transport, and re-assemble and install in the garage. I've always wanted one and it will make working on the cars much easier, but there was another reason. It also helps with freeing up some much-needed space in the garage and will help with my new purchase. Yup, what's better than one Roadster? TWO!!! My crazy master plan is to build TWO Roadsters over the next 4-6 years. We've got two boys and I promised I would leave each of them one when I'm dead and gone. Hopefully, I will live to 100! So I spent 12 hours in the car yesterday to go and pick up another '67.5 1600 in Alabama, numbers matching, original VIN tag. It's been sitting since 1990 from what I can tell, it's full of rust, and has a locked-up motor. I spent the better part of today gutting the car and removing as much rust as possible. I had several rattle cans of "red" paint in the garage so I sanded down the rust and put a quick coat over what I could to prepare the car for storage. I didn't have enough for the hood and trunk lid, but I think they are too far gone anyway, might have to replace them altogether. Now this car will have to go into storage up on top of the lift and patiently wait for her turn down the road. It amazes me that two almost identical cars can have rust in completely different areas and have solid clean metal in different areas as well. Sadly the original seats crumbled when I removed them, they were literally dust. No headrests either. Going to take some work but I can't wait to have two finished Roadsters to enjoy for many years.
