Headlight bucket resto tips

I had this on the left so I bought new ones from Thailand on the right for $93.50 for the pair.

I think I bought from this one, two sets, exact match. Put in datsun headlight bucket. You have to remove the two little tabs which come right off.

If you can get them plated, cadmium is the cheapest, zinc is more expensive, then the buckets will last a long time. Painting I have never tried on the headlight buckets.

Can't see how to remove the nylon sleeves to get buckets plated.

Buy new one or repaint Eastwood Silver Cad like I did

Cleaned one bucket and discovered the shells are in really excellent shape. May or may not paint. Thanks for the reminder on the Eastwood Silver Cad.

So, what do y'all use for the headlight bucket grommet where the wires come in? Just use a regular round grommet like on the firewall?
