Alternator bracket 67.5 1600 with H20 block

Post by Cjblzn »

Looking to see how others with a H20 block mounted their alternator bracket, mine was apparently welded by previous owner and the bracket broke at the weld.

I used a stock bar, and bent it to allow it to bolt on to the front of the head, below the thermostat tower I believe. I may have had to drill a hole, or widen the hole to accommodate the bolt. I will try to get a picture for you tomorrow, it was not very complicated though.

Took some pictures, I used the stock bracket, I think, at least it is one I had laying around if not the stock. I bolted it at the water pump. It involved a slight bend (it was flat and curved). In addition I used a grinder and "notched: the bracket to clear the head. Works a charm and doesn't seem to be showing any signs of fatigue.
