Was racing this weekend at lime rock. Has fun and getting used to car still. Will look into a shims to stiffen springs before the next race. The cable seems to be hard to add. Also a gated shifter like a Ferrari seems like overkill.

I'm pretty sure the 5 spd from an early 80's Nissan Diesel pickup with the sd-22 has the 5th gear lockout in it's transmission, it's a 71B. Other racers use them so it might be worth checking into. Once you have the case/housing you can convert the pickup gears to 280z type gearing and change the over drive ratio too.
