Datsun SRL/SPL … Estate???

Post by Bwk2000 »

Came across these pics, definitely something I’ve never seen before. Was this ever done for any market?
Forgive the image quality, but this is how I found them.

How would you say "shooting-brake" in Japanese?

Good thing that “sunroof” is there because I would never fit in it otherwise. Appears to have a couple inches added in the middle to fit that second row of seats.

One of the biggest sales of import model was a MG sort of wagon like that in 70-71
Can't remember it's model name right off
MGB-GT
There was a early 1950s Ferrari that had a similar look

I might have first hand experience in a 1999 originally built as a "one Lap of America car" at Buttonwillow in CA. Yes, that is a Tesla and a Corvette behind me. No, they did not get past me on the front straight. Driving in a supercharged S-52 will leave you with a perpetual smile.

What about the "landau" version, where the elite ride in back, separated by a partition?

Clownshoe!

Love it. MUCH kinder and more PC than the name my brother and I called them. Great driver's cars, just fugly IMO.

Sorry to get off the original topic. A 4 seat, 311 wagon? No thank you. Not for me.

I don’t know … They’re kind of growing on me 🤔

Would have been much more practical back in the day.
