Is this Worth the it?

Hello everyone,
Quick into, I'm new, both to Roadsters and this forum. I've always liked these roadsters and always wanted one, just never had the courage to pull the trigger on getting one. However, I ended up at the Solvang show, and WOW. I'm all in now...

SO I need your professional opinion on this find. What should I, what would you pay for these two?

What ever the price, you are buying yourself a lot of work! Depending on your abilities and/or a bucket of $$, you can easily get in too deep money-wise. That said, not knowing rust issues and completeness $1k is a good starting point.. I'd be happy to take the hardtop on the silver one off your hands....probably the most valuable part of the lot. Pat’s correct. Hit the pause button for a minute. What’s your budget for the build and what is your experience level in restorations? Sometimes a smokin’ good deal can be anything but.

Often it’s better to find one in more or less decent shape and use that as a starting point - It can cost you much less in the long run (unless they have included seats and headrests for a ‘67.5 - Then that’s like GOLD, so I’ve recently learned )

Both are 1500s. Massive project for sure but they should be saved.

Unless you can do it yourself get out your wallet for rust repairs. Parts these are much more rare so see how much stuff is still left.

Welcome to "what if, how come and why not". Do you have a place to store things out of the weather? Do either of the cars have any front end chrome, like the front bumpers or head light trim? I will let you know almost every thing is available, your wallet is your gate way.

And do not sell the hard top.

I found and brought home a 1960 MGA Coupe, from Barstow. Needs everything. I have a also have a 1970 Roadster, the nicest and cleanest one I could afford.The lack of maintenance on the Roadster is getting fixed, how much thing cost is eye watering. The Datsun is still the better choice.

Very easy to drop $15,000 to $20,000 even if you’re doing almost everything yourself just for a very nice driver, maybe a #3. If you want a #2 then double that, and if you want a number one…well then make sure there’s plenty of ink in your checkbook!

I'm at least $30,000 each in to two cars and that is with doing many things myself. But they are turning out beautiful.

Thank you all for your feed back. I was thinking I would need 20k to get her looking good/up and running. But it's sounding like it may be more. I think I can handle that in the long run (5-7yrs). With that said, my main concern is the rust & parts. Are parts difficult to come buy?

I just managed to get an Alvin style very lightweight hardtop so I'm good. But I really do like that one but I would tell you to keep too. At the very least they're great for storing or parking the car for a period.

what do you mean The 65 is a one year model?
i thought the body's are the same, with some interior differences.
and how is this Steve guy, I want to pick his brain, and see his Fairlady.

65 was a transition model. Part 64 and 66. Steve is on here as Steve_Car I think.
