If you want to fit down below the windshield, a high windshield car (68 - 70) is your best bet. It can be done in a low windshield, but may take some work.

I'm 6' 1'' and with a high screen 2000 the top of the windscreen has never been an issue.
I did drive a low screen 1500 for 300km's recently and that was a different story altogether. Aside from the lower screen the seat didn't go as far back as my 2000 so I ended up with what felt like my knees around my shoulders. Anything under 60km/h head over the screen, anything over 60 scrunch down. I was amazed at how different a car it was to drive since visually it doesn't appear that different to a 2000.
How did that MGC handle with that big heavy six cylinder hanging over the front suspension?
