Any of you out there that has had their frames blasted, roughly how much $$ should i expect to have my 68 frame blasted and primed/painted?
Open to all suggestions on having this done, I have no experience with having this done. I have removed every thing that was bolted to the frame, does any of you have any other suggestions?
Thank you Daniel

Re: general idea of frame sand blast
In Ohio, I recently had a much larger frame (Buick Grand National) blasted and powdercoated for $1200, but it also including blasting the rear end for that car for me to paint. I am anticipating $1000 to blast/powdercoat my Datsun frame when I get to it. I know you're looking at painting, and I don't have a feel for that, but my guess is at least two-thirds of the powdercoating cost. But everything is starting to cost more....

Re: general idea of frame sand blast
I paid about $250-$300 about 5 or 6 years ago for the frame and most of the suspension to be blasted. I guess prices have really gone up since then
Check all around for pricing. Some places mainly do commercial work and charge more for small jobs. Go to a classic car meet or a cars and coffee and ask for recommendations. I used a chassis paint on mine which I sprayed with a gun and it has held up excellent. Powder coat is superior, but costs a lot more (if you can paint it your self anyway) and is harder to touch up.

Re: general idea of frame sand blast
I paid $500 or less (I think less since I paid cash) to have my frame blasted and powder coated along with many other parts. I had already stripped all the parts clean.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Re: general idea of frame sand blast
Many years ago I rented a portable sand blaster that was like a small vacuum and sucked up a lot of the blast material at the same time. I don't know if anything like that exists anymore, but it was cheap to rent.

Re: general idea of frame sand blast
Thank you everone,
Monday i droped the frame off and picked it up this morning, Thursday. A good friend of mine set me up with a super guy at a local heavy equipment auction company where they have about 6 large sandblast bays and paint booths.
