Bumper Mounted License Lamp Hardware

I ran this question by Mike Young and he isn't sure of the answer. I'm restoring the Socket on the rear License Light (1967) I'm done except for waiting on an LED Bulb to come in. I thought I'd just change out the slightly crusty two nuts that mount the Assy to the Bumper to some new SS hardware. Well #10-24, #10-32 and M5-0.8 all start to thread on the Housing studs but lock up after a couple turns. Am I dealing with some kind of JIS metric standard? If so how many other areas of the car have this issue? I went ahead and soaked the two original nuts in vinegar and will hit them with DioxIT and re-use them. I believe one of the nuts is a ground wire point. Any info appreciated. Also thanks to Jason Rector for the info on the Dorman Socket replacement hardware. (Dorman 85806)

I found that they used M5-0.9 JIS on my Fuel Pump. So that is my guess with those. Impossible to find those anymore.

Thanks, I guess I'm not surprised, hopefully not too many spots on the car will run into those situations.

Here you go (toss the outer casing with the five prongs, you use the rest...spring, contact plate, pigtail and boot)

Keep your old pigtail for no other reason then to know what size bullet terminal you will need to get and crimp on the new wire.

It was a Roadster fuel pump?, do you recall how many of these M5-.09 there were on it?
