OK, so I'll modify that to a South East/Mid-Atlantic meet. Just cause I'm selfish like that! :-)
I do need to make it to shows outside my area though!

I fell in love with mine 37.5 years ago when it first drove past me, then became mine 36 years ago and the love affair has never died. Since it was already modified and a basket case, I did what ever I wanted to it, and today it's fuel injected, crank fired and modified in many other ways. Its been everything I've ever wanted in a car and mechanical friend. And while you have some very cool cars there, here and gone, I think you'll agree, there's nothing like a convertible. Enjoy your return to home!

BTW, if you don't already have them, get yourself a set of Bilsteins. Night and day.

WELCOME!
Thanks for the Bilstien recommendation.

Pretty obvious at this point that your nr.550 is generating considerable interest among this group of roadster enthusiasts, many of whom wish for more details on the car. At your convenience, please submit information and photo you would like to include in the permanent registry:

https://www.311s.org/index.php/roadster ... ntry-form/

Steve Allen (creator of the site) will then enter the info and photo you included. Steve owns SRL279 and also a '72Z, among other things.
Thank you, and again, a sincere welcome.

It’s in the 67 2000 registry, but needs updating. Still shows a few owners ago, and when the car was blue.

Steve,

I will dig into the registry and update it. There is no evidence this car has ever been blue, much less wrecked. A paint guy I know with 40+ years painting cars confirmed it's original with the driver's door and fender having been repainted at some point. The frustrating thing with Datsun vice Porsche, for example is documentation. Whether it is factory or POers, not everyone does a good job holding on to it. This site looks to change some of that for the community. So, thank you.

I was wondering is anyone would comment on the License plate, from my "74 911 Targa", whose days, according to the boss are number and will be sold in coming months. If you have tried to register a vehicle at your DMV you share my frustrations. Can't get in to get it registered until March.

The car had a body swap. The comments in this thread on Bring A Trailer should bring things to light. https://bringatrailer.com/2015/02/26/19 ... -roadster/

The original body was wrecked, so the tub was swapped out with an original paint rust free tub when the car was restored many years ago.
The body you have is better than a patched up one, and they are not numbered, so it is accepted by many to be no big deal. It's a very nice car, I hope to see it as it's semi local.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

Regarding documentation, few cared about the Roadster back in the day, with even the dealership parts departments calling the U20 a "boat anchor"...

Regarding the Bilstein shocks, there are few things that can be added that make such a significant and obvious improvement. One of the best things ever done for the car IMHO.

Warm welcome. Our roadsters (my cars include SRL #529 and #565) probably hung around the factory together.
