Good luck and if it is not too late remove it and grease one side. Maybe that is in the instructions and I missed it. First time I was went to do a valve adjustment after using the silicone gasket it had bonded to both surfaces. The only way I could get the valve cover off was to cut the gasket then scrape the remains off the head and cover.

Probably anything would work even engine oil, like putting on a new oil filter. Just something to keep it from sticking. I never replaced the silicone gasket since I had a new OEM to put on.

Thanks, I picked up this one a while back. It did come with instructions but nothing about the grease, but it makes sense to do so when I go to install it.

I only used permatex 2 on the valve cover side which doesn't superglue to silicone, so no risk of tearing it apart.
