1600 Flywheel Lock Plates

Post by Curtis »

Ladies and Gentlemen. Are you tired of those beat up old lock plates for your flywheel crank bolts that you wonder if the tab is going to break? Have we got a deal for you.

Thanks to the fact that Datsun used MG tech specs for so many things we can get parts that fit our roadsters. For the low price of $2.07 for part number 460-710 for MGB you can get new ones from Moss Motors. Matches exactly.

Mine are tired and figured there had to be something. You can get them from the forklift parts supplier but they're $5 each. I do not want to put the old ones in my new 1800 stroker. They called today and told me the camshaft is done.

I don't trust mine to reuse them either, so I drilled the hex heads to accept safety wire.
It is a stock car but I had the wire and tensioner so I figured, why not?

I used moss for repro driveshaft 'straps' on my spitfire (spring steel that kind of works like a u joint or guibo...) and they shredded themselves on first drive. They are low on my trust list lol.
