Help identifying rubber piece on clutch fork
The rubber piece on the left seems to be cracked. I looked up datsun roadster clutch fork but the products displayed don’t have the circular shape like mine does. I have a 1968 1600. Thanks In advance!

https://www.datsunparts.com/Transmission-5-Speed
Part No. 1482 in all likelihood since you have a 5 speed. That is if you are after the clutch fork boot.
I believe Dean has a min. $29 order. If you don't need anything else, here is an eBay listing

Also missing your clutch slave spring (unless you removed it prior to the picture).

More than one Roadster? If not you might want to update your profile as currently it is showing as a high windshield 2000.

Re: Help identifying rubber piece on clutch fork
Wasn’t entirely sure what I had when I got it but I later found out the engine was swapped to a u20 but it still has the 4 speed transmission. I’m also getting grinding when I down shift. I tried making the adjustment at the fork and changed gear oil but that didn’t seem to help. What’s next? Transmission rebuild?DAC21 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:44 pmkennyele11 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 7:47 pmDAC21 wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 3:36 pm https://www.datsunparts.com/Transmission-5-Speed

Yes, your synchronizer is likely tired.

Re: Help identifying rubber piece on clutch fork
Anybody rebuild transmissions in Northern California? Not entirely sure if I’d be able to do it myself.

Re: Help identifying rubber piece on clutch fork
Might be more economical and definitely more desirable to upgrade to a later model Nissan 5 speed to suit
I'm doing just that to my '65 SP310

Re: Help identifying rubber piece on clutch fork
I started a thread on this site: -
"Transmission conversion 4 speed to 5 speed FS5W71B".
https://311s.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=325195#p325195
and have documented progress on my Shutterfly Album site: -
https://nissanman.shutterfly.com/3051
ATM I have my flywheel and new clutch cover/pressure plate in a shop.
The clutch cover is a modern diaphragm unit and has a different mounting PCD to the original clutch, so 6 new holes for the fasteners and 3 for the locating dowels.
Should be just about done this week
