Bolt size to hold air filter assembly to SU carburetors 1968 1600
Anybody know what size bolts hold the air filter assembly onto the SU carbs on a 1968 1600?

Guys, those are for a 2000. The 1600 uses bolts. I haven't checked to see if the threads are the same, but probably.

Hey Toby, I’m pretty sure the bolts that hold the filter assembly to the carb body (not the wing bolts that hold the filter in the assembly) are 5/16†UNC (course). They are the only thing on my car that I need to use a 1/2†socket on. I think 1†or 1.25†long.
Call me if you get stuck.

Thanks Matt (and everybody).
I'll try a 5/16 course. IIRM The wing nuts and threaded shaft that holds the assembly together are 1/4 inch fine threads.

I don't know if they are the same but I just checked my '69-1600 and the bolt is 8mm-1.25 with a 15mm length. Found these nice SS ones at the local hardware store.
