Any thoughts if this Ignition Sw. will work.. 1967

Post by DAC21 »

Saw this on eBay. NOS for various 1960's Datsuns. It comes with 4000/8000 series keys which is what I have on my 1967. I know one Roadster vendor sells a couple Nissan but non Roadster ignition alternatives that will work on early Roadsters although the neck / barrel is a smaller diameter, 13/16 versus the correct 1" for Roadsters. This switch at the link has 4 terminals, our Roadsters have 3. But the wiring diagram shows no use for terminal #4 so maybe there is hope?? I guess unless someone on the board has actually tried this part there is no knowing if it will work, just thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Curtis bought a Ron Francis ignition switch a few years back that looked and functioned like original, IIRC. Maybe he will chime in.

Yes, I bought a Ron Francis IS-02 which has extra pins you don't have to use. Works really well and unless you know what the original nut looks like you can't even tell. I can't believe the things you guys remember.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Curtis can you use your OEM key lock core (thinking not) or can the core that comes with IS-02 from Ron Frances be rekeyed to your original Roadster Key?

Thanks
