I would suggest a tiny squirt of Wd40 spray using the red tube and a towel covering that to keep from after-spray from getting outside inside the console. A super short burst. Then jiggle a key back and forth to hopefully release the lock pins.
After that, remove the lock completely and give it a good cleaning and lubrication.

Is the only problem that the button is stuck in and the console is open, or is the console closed with the button in? I've had the problem with the console closed & button in. Was able to replace the latch arm on the back of the button once I got it open. FYI, Dean has the console latch arm listed. #1075. I got mine from someone on autox who had some made over 20 years ago.

Peace,

I have dealt with this a few times, like others have suggested, a squirt of your favorite lubricant (I like Triflow) into the lock to get things lubricated again helps. I would then put the key in the lock, and gently press down on the lid to take some of the load off of the latch and give the key a good wiggle to see if you can get the assembly to release.

If that does not work, a super thin piece of rigid plastic, or metal can be slid in under the console lid to push the latch arm away from the lock-- again, pushing down a bit on the lid to take the load of the spring off.

Good luck, and let us know what works!
