Cocomat fitment issue. Anyone run into this?

Post by cbez »

I did the whole tracing and stuff many months ago but only now got around to putting the mats in. From what I recall the tracings fit fine but may be user error. The passenger side fits perfect.

It is fouling on the dead pedal bracket and the throttle limiter which in turn puts it way too far back towards the seat.

I know other folks run them no problem so not sure what the deal is.

Coco mats are not laser measured, or cut, or serged, so your fit may vary.

For the record, they are offering to help me out with a new drivers mat, possibly the pattern that was used for the 311s group buy.

Ask them to use the pattern they used for Chris Linhardt. They fit excellent in both his and my car. I think it was the standard pattern, not sure, excellent fit. Pat

Keep in mind these that one-size will not necessarily fit all roadsters. That is what I learned with the Group Buy, hence the personalized templates. Even then, those may require some back and forth. The key is that Cocomats is willing to work with each customer to get it right. For example, look at Pat's Cocomats: they have clear cutouts for the dead pedal and throttle--the latter is something you never want to interfere with. I'm not seeing that with your mats.

When I ordered my Cocomats, they sent me 2 paper templates, one to verify fit and one to make corrections.
I made changes and they made them to fit the template that I sent back.
The mats were made to match the template I sent back and they fit perfectly.
