Horn Color

Post by Jdflyer »

Anybody know what the original color of the horn was on a 1970 1600? Mine are beat up and I can’t tell if they were originally played or painted black. My instinct tells me to just go black but I wanted to solicit other opinions.

Thanks

I have two 1970's and the horns are black. Mine are in good shape so I never did anything to them other than remove them to paint the cars. No evidence that they were repainted

I know that early 1600s and 2000s they were clear zinc. Don't know about the 70 model. If you remove a screw, you can usually tell
