P/N for early 1967 Dash Pad Twisties?

Post by DAC21 »

Are the Dash Twisties the same P/N as the six in the back holding down the Soft Top? (97754-A4500)

I can't find a diagram in the online parts manual showing the P/N for the four up front. Seems to me the threaded shafts would need to be pretty long to get through the pad to mount them to the metal Dash underneath therefore a different P/N?

TIA

I’ll have to check next week when I get home. The twisters I used on my dash are black. What I have worked with my old Dean repro from 20 years ago. I have at least one more set of twisters & I think there is a Nissan part number on the package. I’ve had them for many years, so they may be NLA now.

Peace,

Stan whom I bought my Dash Pad from a couple months ago mentioned the Black twisties as well. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a 1967.5 "get rid of the shiny stuff" initiative?? I reached out to Stan after posting this message and he recommended Nissan P/N 97751-12900 as it has the longest shaft(20mm) of the still available twisties. The online Parts Catalog shows that P/N as being used in the two rear package shelf wall locations. The other twisties securing the soft top on the exterior of the car are only 8mm. 20mm is about .79 inches and should be long enough to get through the Pad and to the underside of the metal dash to get a washer and nut on them??

As I recall, the early cars had twisties of the same finish at all locations on the car - length of the studs was different. The black didn't show up until later - not sure about the 67.5s off hand.
