I hope one day to have as much confidence in my car that I wouldn't be sweating back to back to.... 300 mile daily drives. Really Nice!

Just. Amazing. What a trip with gorgeous scenery. You should write a book Ted covering your roadster travels. And to do it with your son...that's priceless.

ps...there is no greater sin (yes, even worse than a tilted gas cap) than running taller tires up front on your roadster

OUCH, Low Blow, even after consulting with the 311s wheel/tire GURU.  :?
A solution to fill the front wheel wells, keep the VTEC sump off the ground and remove the forward rake.
Will increase the rear tire size a bit next tire change.

I wouldn't have even noticed the tire difference! So glad you and your son were able to have such a successful trip. 35 years ago I got the Datsun (as a derelict and undriveable) and began imagining the driving the adventures we could have. Since then I've done many cross state drives and turned the odometer over more than once, but the trip you just took is the essence of my imaginary drives. Glad your all home safe!
