sr20de electric fan upgrade

Post by dynaguy »

Currently running a CXRacing civic/delSol 3-row radiator and the fan that came with it. Would like to improve the air flow. Any suggestions as to what brand and model has worked best? TIA Pat

I'm upgrading from the civic/delsol (mine was a 2 row) to a 3 row mishimoto radiator and fan. I haven't run it yet since my engine is being rebuilt. Same length and height but 1/2" thicker. The fan is flatter so doesn't take up any more room.

I went from a 2 row Mishimoto to a 3 row and it made a big difference. Also used a Nismo thermostat.

The PO installed a Champion radiator and electric fan in my SR it runs really good , we had a few 100+ days and I drove her had but it barely touched 190f . The radiator works really well and the fan dint event start that much.
I'll try to see if I have an invoice in the paperwork to let you know what the combo is.
I'll text you some pictures

There is no model for a datsun roadster. The one I purchased is an exact fit for the honda delsol/civic radiator that I had.

My car never overheated in daily driving even on hot days. The only time it overheated was on the dyno when it was really being pushed.

I have used a SPAL 14" puller fan with electronic 190F ON - 180F OFF range thermostat on a clean stock radiator, replacing the crank-driven fan, for almost a decade with great results.
