MSD Blaster Coil ok with otherwise stock system?

Post by DAC21 »

Buying all my ignition parts. I'm only interested in getting this car started and worrying about the upgrades down the road (EI) But I figured in regards to the coil buy a future-proofed one up front. MSD Blaster comes highly recommended for the EI Dizzy. I just want to make sure it's fine with a stock ignition, NGK Plugs, Points, Cap, Condenser and 7mm wires? EI would be down the road. I'm thinking zero issues (Plugs?) but I figured I would ask the people who have been there done that just to make sure.

TIA

It might be smarter to just use a stock coil for now, and upgrade the coil when you switch to EI. Each EI system has specific coil parameters.

Your engine will run fine with a good stock coil.
