I been wrestling trying to get the pitman arm off of the steering box, and my goal today was to just pop it loose so I could mark the orientation. Well, it was on so tight they separated completely. Now I think I have the orientation correct, and I want to mark it for reassembly later, but is there a sure fire way to make sure the arm is on in the right position. I don't want to have no left turn and double the right.
Thanks
Steering pitman orientation?

If you look at it you should have one spline that is wider than the rest.

There is, but there are 4 of them, 90 degrees apart.

Re: Steering pitman orientation?
Do you have the arm on the steering box still? Should be the same I believe. One arm swings up and one swings down. I can take a photo later unless someone else wants to post one.

Re: Steering pitman orientation?
No, it popped off once the tension freed.

I went ahead and marked them with what I thought the alignment was, and I guess I'll find out when it comes time to reassemble. Just thought I was missing something obvious.
Thanks!
