411 wagon?

Post by shifty »

Anyone know about 411 wagons? I think the '67 had an R-16. Will a U-20 fit?

Just thinking about a future project....

Leigh,

While I have not done it, I have seen a photo of a U20 in an RL411. If you get an RL wagon and decide to go stick, I am still looking for an auto!

Leigh,

There wre two different models...the 67 wpl411 had a j13 and the wrl411 had the r16.

A U20 would be a very tight fit. In the wrl411 the exhaust actually routes through the fender wall due to clearance issues. Might need to create a custom header/exhaust manifold to fit a u20 in the car..

If you are looking for one, Carl Hockett (the guy who bought my 67 rl411) has a few of them for sale.

Also...Check out the early datsun club archives...lots of info about the 411s.

**BTW: Leigh, I'm proud to say that I now own fewer datsuns than you!!

BTW...

Here is the content of an email posted by Carl (on 7/4)about his 411 stash which is for sale:

Hey all,

For those who have asked about available parts, here's the word on
our Kansas inventory...

call my Dad (Lee) after 7 p.m. weekdays or any time weekends (Central
time) at 620.285.2292 for specific info on item conditions.

All three cars engines were run when we got them, the SSS has been
run and driven (just enough to move it around the property) since.

We're pretty much agreed that it won't serve us too well to sell this
stuff off piecemeal. Would prefer the whole lot go at once, or at
least a lot purchase that would be worth our while (probably at least
a few hundred dollars).

If necessary, Dad can also arrange some delivery if it's not too
far.

TC&E,

Just thinking out loud right now. The plan for this year is to reduce the roadster count to make room for new projects! The rat is so close to running!
